CBEDS 2011 Collection
The California Basic Educational Data System (CBEDS) is an annual data collection, administered every October, to collect information on student and staff demographics.
The County/District Information Form (CDIF) is completed by the district office, and the School Information Form (SIF) is completed by school sites. These forms should be downloaded from the links, left. Please note: These forms are interactive pdf's, which you may type into on-line, but you must print out when complete and send to the District Office, Information Systems. (For more information on interactive pdf's, please see the tutorial, Help with PDF Interactive Forms)
Information, definitions, and answers to questions can be found in the CBEDS Admin manual located under Forms and Information links, left.
(Student counts and certificated staff level data, previously collected on Professional Assignment Information Form (PAIF), are now collected through CALPADS, but the information will continue to be a part of the CBEDS data files.)
More information is available on the CDE website CBEDS Instructional Materials page.
California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS)
CALPADS is the foundation of California's K-12 education data system. It will maintain longitudinal, individual-level data including student demographic, program participation, grade level, enrollment, course enrollment and completion, discipline, state assessment, teacher assignment, and other data required to meet state and federal reporting requirements. Data will be linked longitudinally using a unique, non-personally identifiable Statewide Student Identifier (SSID). Visit the CALPADS Web page for more information.
