Recently, speculation and rumors have circulated in the Carlsbad community implying that the environment in some of our schools may be contributing to a higher than normal incidence of cancer among students and families. We empathize greatly with families whose loved ones are battling or have lost the fight against various types of cancer.

A lot of uncertainty exists, among both lay people and medical professionals, regarding the multiple causes of diverse cancers. We understand people’s anxiety and have responded by working with County and State officials to research the healthy environments in our schools and disseminate information.
