Menu Information
Our menus are analyzed for nutrient content to ensure that we meet the dietary guidelines as required by the United States Department of Agriculture. Nutritional content for each week is printed on the menu.
Elementary school menus are sent home the last week of every month. In addition, we offer an on-line version of the menu in Adobe PDF format.
Attn Parents: New Prepayment System for meals - www.parentonline.net!
As reported on School Loop, the district is no longer utilizing mySchoolbucks as our online payment vendor. The new vendor is ParentOnline and you can set up a new account by logging onto their website: www.parentonline.net. With this system you can prepay by using your Visa or MasterCard. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is a $1.75 convenience fee per transaction when you make a payment into the system. You will be able to view account balances and your child's purchase history. The system can be set to send an email notice when the balance is low, or you can set up automatic payments. You will need your child's student ID number to set up the account. Please call Nutrition Services at 760-331-5000 if you have any questions. Parent Online Information Flyer.
Check out the new "Kids Katering brochure". Whether it is a class party, recognizing student achievement, or celebrating holidays and birthdays, Nutrition Services is available to provide a wholesome entrée, snack, or dessert, that will please any child’s taste buds and be healthy too.
Child Nutrition and the District Vision
Child Nutrition is proud to be a member of the educational team at the Carlsbad Unified School District serving your children. We serve over 650,000 meals per school year, through the National School Breakfast and National School Lunch programs. Meals are also served during the summer school program. The National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs strive to ensure that all children have access to healthy meals at school to promote learning readiness and healthy eating behaviors. Children who aren’t hungry feel better, learn better, and behave better. As a partner in education, our support staff works diligently to provide nutritious food in a safe and healthy environment.
About the Department
Nutrition Services is a self-sufficient enterprise, and all revenues earned from food sales are used to maintain the department staffing, equipment, food and supplies, and training. Our payment policies are in place to help us sustain our financial status in the district. We hope that you find this helpful. Nutrition Services is located at the district office at 6225 El Camino Real. Please feel free to contact us at (760) 331-5085, if you should have any questions or concerns regarding Nutrition Services.
